For more than ten years the Downtown Alliance has staged major events prior to the Fourth of July Fireworks. These concerts have been hailed by
The New York Times as the city's best Independence Day tradition. Over the years, more than a 100,000 people have attended these shows
put together by the Suspects. Among those who have performed are The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Ryan Adams,
Lyle Lovett, Billy Bragg, Emmy Lou Harris and Yo La Tengo (among many others).
Music at Castle Clinton

Castle Clinton's concert series is now respected as one of New York City's true
cultural gems. Held in an uncommonly beautiful setting, this evening music series
has presented everything from living legends and national treasures to Indie
artists breaking into international stardom. Ten years of great concerts have
included The Magnetic Fields, Cat Power, Calexico, Spoon, McCoy Tyner, Mavis
Staples, The Stills, Cecil Taylor, Rosanne Cash, Del McCoury, Willie Colon,
Beulah, and dozens more.
