Madison Square Park has entered an absolute renaissance, and the park and its programs have been hailed as New York's most improved. The crown jewel of the park's programming is the Suspect's Mad.Sq.Music series, presenting breaking artists in a gloriously lush park setting. Artists have included Ron Sexsmith, Dar Williams, Donald Harrison, Lucy Kaplansky, Ellis Hooks, Luciana Souza, Me'shell Ndegeocello, and many more.

There is nothing quite like the HOWL! Festival. If you can picture a counter-cultural country fair celebrating the rich legacy of the East Village, you'll get the picture. HOWL! activities have included the celebrated Allen Ginsberg Poetry Festival, the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival, and Wigstock, the country's best-loved cross-dressing extravaganza complete with Ru Paul and more hairy legs on 7" spike heels than one can count.
